To my way of thinking this is what kettlebelling is all about.  Take a heavy object, in this case a pood, and keep it moving in a natural way for a goodly time.

For my kettlebell workout, I put on some good music.  Every other song I do swings, figure-eights, presses, farmer carries (just holding the damn thing waist high) and the occasional Turkish get-up.
