To my way of thinking this is what kettlebelling is all about:

Take a heavy object, in this case a pood, and keep it moving in a natural way as the spirit moves you for a goodly time.  We can't all be roofers carrying bags of slag and tarpaper rolls up to the roof and mopping hot pitch with a double skein.  But we can achieve a similar level of fitness (minus the beer) by swinging a kettlebell freestyle like these nature lovers on the beach:

For my kettlebell workout, I put on some good music.  Every other song I do swings, , presses, farmer carries (just holding the damn thing with arms by your side), figure-eights, some wind mills, a little kettlebell juggling and the occasional Turkish get-up

A short compilation of some of the fun stuff we did with the bells on the beach, aside from the ordinary swings and presses. Features throwing, hand to hand tricks, kettlebell walking,
bridge-press and turkish-get-up-sit-up. Fun.
Music is by O Rappa, the track is Reza vela.
